I had a blast today. The car did perform in the morning but manage to give out as the day progresses. One of the item overlooked for a hot Texas Drift day was a triple core radiator. I will definitely be investing in one in the near future. It's very annoying to wait for the car to cool down thereby losing some valuable track time. Otherwise, I was having a good time until the exhaust manifold to turbo gasket decided to give out also. That pretty much ended my day on the track. The car show went on without too much attention from us. There were supposed to be live music and booty contest, but they were all cancelled when the quick Texas 1 hours Thunderstorm passed over the venue. With the blown exhaust gasket, the car limped home with no boost and sounding like a tin can. Now day it almost makes sense to just buy new tires from an internet retailer like Tirerack.com. You can find deals like $59.00 for a 225/45/17. A pair of new one usually last me a whole day or even longer, but that doesn't count since I really suck when it comes to this sport. A good friend of mine can go through 2 pairs or more depending on how much track time he can get. I procrastinated until the last minute yesterday looking for tires. As I looked around at the local used tire stores, I came across a deal for a pair of decent used Dunlop and although they are not a matching pair, they did perform very well. I tried to match up the tire tread wear numbers for a best guess in the softness of the rubber.
