9/24/2006: Daily-Drifter Grind session

This is also another qualifying round for Formula D Pro-AM series. It had a low turn out due to the wet weather forecasted over the weekend. It was a gamble but I was prepared to come water surfing instead. The ground dried late morning and it turned out to be a very nice breezy awesome day. I had a great time learning and I finally figured out how to Dorifto! It's like an amusement park thrill ride only you have control of the ride! Thanks to John Yim for the morning instruction on donut and big thanks to my buddy Ameen for all the drift lessons. Riding shotgun with you really helped me learn very quickly.

WELDED DIFF FOR THE WIN!

I can say that since I installed one. It is one of the cheapest most effective modification to a drift car. Forget about those 1000 dollars 2 way LSD. Say bye bye to your always open V-LSD.  Just take the stock open differential apart and weld all the spider gears together. There is nothing else more solid than this. I personally have used both the V-LSD and now the welded Diff. There is just no comparison. Before the Welded Diff, I thought I will never learn how to drift. Now I think I can actually do it and may eventually turn pro. Stay tuned for a write up on the welded diff how to.
