Wow!

It has been a while since I have updated the website. The new year came and went by very quickly. We had a great time with Casey at his place new years eve. THANKS CASEY! New year Resolution: I really do not have one. I just don't have any bad habit to quit. Perhaps something I can do to improve myself. Oh yea, ....... That's right............ "I need to stop spending so damn much money on these cars". Lets see how long this is going to last...................... I thought I would for sure finished the turbo project on the s14.3 before the new year but that didn't really happened until just a week ago. It's still not a bad setup and it runs very strong. I am forever swearing off cheap parts on ebay unless it is good quality name brand new or used parts. I am paying for it now since that XTD stage3 clutch is having serious slipping problem. The guy at XTD said it needs at least 500 miles of break in time. I have driven 125 miles so far and yes it is starting to grip better but still slipping on 4th gear. I didn't have any problem with the last XTD I put in the pink car. It is an identical clutch but the pedal pressure sure feels a lot stronger on the pink car than this new one. XTD has some serious quality control issue. I am going to give this clutch a benefit of the doubt and wait a few hundred miles more. Speaking of cheap parts, the knock of HKS SSQV BOV is also shit. The one used on the the pink car on the last product review broke in less than two weeks of use. I tried my luck again with another one right out of the box on the purple car, and it's not closing after blow off. I laugh so hard and couldn't stop because here I thought something was wrong with my tuning. All I can say is "lesson learned" with cheap parts. The Dual Apexi N1 clone exhaust fits well with the supporting downpipe and mid pipe resonator. This is one of the cheap part that actually works fine. It really should since there is no moving parts. The bottom mount manifold on the pink s13 is still in one piece after 18 months with no signs of crack.
Overall, the build up on the purple car was a success. The whole job took about 2 months and that's only working on the weekend and over the Christmas Holidays. I am in the process of summarizing a write up on the entire process from start to finish. It should be done as time permits.
